RENTAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

RENTAL RATES

Daily Rental Rate: Equipment may be picked up after 2:00PM and must be returned by 12:00PM the following day.

Weekend Rental Rates: Weekend rentals may be picked up after 2:00PM on Friday and must be returned no later than 12:00PM Monday. The weekend rental rate will be billed at 1.5x the daily rate. Rentals picked up after 2:00PM on Friday and returned by 4:00PM Sunday will only be billed for one day.

Weekly & Monthly Rental Rates: The weekly rate is 3x the daily rate and the monthly rate is 9x the daily rate.

LATE RETURNS

Rentals need to be returned at or before the time specified upon pick-up. If the equipment is returned after the deadline, a late-fee corresponding to the daily rate may apply. If the late return of equipment inconveniences another customer, an additional fee WILL apply. The additional fee is made at a managers discretion, and will not exceed 2x the daily rate multiplied by each additional day late (additional days late start after deadline).

RESERVATIONS

Rentals can be reserved in advance by e-mailing rental@maverickdrone.com. Reservations will be accepted up to thirty days in advance. Cancellations less than twenty four hours from pick up time will result in a one day rental charge.

DEPOSITS

All rentals must be secured by a major credit card, and a valid drivers license.  Cash/check deposits are NOT allowed, and debit cards are discouraged. Deposits for most drones is $200 and $500 for a body. Cardholder must be present at time of pick up. Your card will be charged at time of rental, and credited upon return of equipment, less any charges. When we process the credit, the information is sent to the financial institution that manages your account, and may take 3-10 business days to post back to your account. Lessee accepts all equipment rented in good condition and agrees to return said equipment in the same condition. Any loss, theft or damage to equipment shall be paid by lessee. In the event of an equipment malfunction, Maverick Drone Systems ("Maverick") liability is limited to the daily rental rate. It is the responsibility of the lessee to notify Maverick Drone Systems of any equipment failure in order to avoid rental charges.

DAMAGE WAIVER

Damage waivers purchased through Maverick Drone Systems provides a level of protection and peace of mind in the event of unintentional damage to the rental item after paying a deductible. If you do not purchase a damage waiver, you will be responsible for 100% of the cost to repair, or a replacement item. If you do purchase a damage waiver and an item is damaged, you pay 100% of the repair cost or 15% of the replacement value of the item – whichever is less expensive. Damage waivers must be purchased with a major credit card. Paying for waivers with cash or a check is NOT allowed.

RENTAL CREDIT TO PURCHASE

Fifty percent of one day rental fee may be applied to the purchase of identical equipment within thirty days of the rental.
 

FAQ

How do I purchase a damage waiver?
Most items we rent have an option to purchase a damage waiver.  Please let a Maverick employee know that you want to purchase the damage waiver if it is not offered to you.  Some expensive items may still require a deposit or third party insurance in addition to the damage waiver.

What is covered by the damage waivers?
Most unintentional damage to the item is covered under this optional damage waiver policy.

What is NOT covered by damage waivers?
Lost or stolen items are not covered, neither is water damage. Also, any accessories in your rental are not covered, including lens hoods, battery chargers, front and rear caps, cables, etc. If you lose and/or damage these items, you will need to pay for them to be replaced even if you purchased a damage waiver. The damage waivers are for the main product item only. Your photographer's or business insurance might cover items and/or situations that our policies do not cover -- please check with your insurance agent regarding this before your rental begins.

What do you consider damage?
Ordinary wear and tear consisting of minor scratches/scuffs, or dust/dirt/grit on the exterior of the equipment [which can be quickly cleaned off] will not result in a damage assessment. Anything more severe than this, or anything affecting the functionality of the equipment, will be considered damage. We consider ourselves very reasonable about wear and tear - after all, we're drone pilots!

Please note, most items are equipped with tags. Removing these tags is considered damaging the gear. Removal of these tags will result in a $10.00 fee per tag.

Can I use accessories I own with the equipment I rent?
If you use any accessories with rented equipment, other than the accessories Maverick provides, you do so at your own risk. For example, if you use a battery other than the one provided by Maverick with a rented camera and it causes a malfunction, we would consider that damage.

Is the equipment in good working order when it is rented?
Every product is carefully inspected and tested before we hand it over to you.  We also test products for working order when they are returned from rental.

What if I damage the equipment, but I opted not to purchase the damage waiver?
Accidents do happen, so please contact us as soon as possible.  We want to work with you as much as possible not create a lot of stress. Return the rental to us as soon as possible and we will evaluate the damage. In cases where the damage is real and not operator error, we reserve the right to estimate the repair charges (based on our previous repairs), place a temporary authorization hold on your credit card for that amount and send the item off to be repaired. However, our standard process is to send the equipment out for repair, then notify you when it returns with a final cost to you. Because a damage waiver was not purchased, you are liable to pay 100% of the repair, or replacement cost, as well as rental fees (i.e. "loss of use" fees) for every day the gear was out for repair. We put a rush on all repairs to minimize the cost to you for the loss of use fees. Please contact us ASAP with your preferred method of payment so we can charge the amount and close the case on your account. If we do not hear back from you within 5 days, your account information will be sent to collections.

What if I damage the equipment, and I purchased the damage waiver?
Please contact us as soon as possible and return the equipment right away. We will inspect the equipment and the damage, and send it off for repair. You will be charged a 15% deductible for the replacement cost of the item's value, or repair fees- whichever is cheaper. For example if a drone costs $1,000 and the repair costs $200 you will have to pay just $150 (15%). Once the item has been repaired, we will tally up the charges and send you an invoice. Once we have received payment the matter will be closed. If the item is damaged to the point where repair is not possible, and it must be replaced, you will pay 15% of the replacement price for that item.
